Craig, That is a great post. I am going to recommend it for something. The USA learned off the Japanese in the 1980's and 1990's what the USA taught them in the 1950's and 1960's. SPC "Statistical Process Control" was invented by USA manufacturing experts during WW2. A very important point though. The Japanese listened to these USA experts while USA management did not. I will go further then that. British management do not even listen to USA management ideas. This is why I will always prefer to work for USA management (a pet peev of mine) even for British guys who work in the USA. Only the D/F's remain here in Britain as far as I can see. At least the USA management guys clued up a little over the last 20 yrs or so -g-
