>> But the same kind of boneheaded arrogance that proclaimed we would never loose the television and auto markets, etc and as a result quit focusing on innovation and quality, seems all too familiar when I hear the common proclamation of Window's superiority to the MacOS. <<
Interesting paragraph. I agree with the sentiment behind it.
Now let's put it in AAPL context, as this is what this thread is all about.
"bonehead arrogance".- Does high prices for the Mac ring a bell.
"quit focusing on innovation".- How about letting the MacOS fall so far behind that Apple had to dump it, to be replaced with NextStep?
"proclamation of Window's superiority over MacOS".- Who, where? Win95 is about par to MacOS, and I can't think of anybody except Bill Gates saying that Win95 is "superior" to MacOS.
>> led the World with great products, only to drop the ball. <<
IMHO, we've drop the OS ball already. Think about it, the alternatives are
- Win95 a mockup of MacOS, - MacOS an eight year old, crash prone operating system - WinNT VMS with a GUI interface - UNIX a *twenty* year old operating system *without* a GUI.
Looks incredibly paltry, ain't it? |
