Interesting paragraph. I agree with the sentiment behind it.

Now let's put it in AAPL context, as this is what this thread is all about.

"bonehead arrogance".- Does high prices for the Mac ring a bell.

"quit focusing on innovation".- How about letting the MacOS fall so far behind that Apple had to dump it, to be replaced with NextStep?

"proclamation of Window's superiority over MacOS".- Who, where? Win95 is about par to MacOS, and I can't think of anybody except Bill Gates saying that Win95 is "superior" to MacOS.

IMHO, we've drop the OS ball already. Think about it, the alternatives are

- Win95 a mockup of MacOS,
- MacOS an eight year old, crash prone operating system
- WinNT VMS with a GUI interface
- UNIX a *twenty* year old operating system *without* a GUI.

Looks incredibly paltry, ain't it?
