Raymond... is there some reason that you deliberately ignored the fact that I stated the US has not annexed any territory during the past 100 years?

Very seldom has the US attempted to occupy and annex nations that it has defeated in war. Certainly not in the past 100 years, it hasn't.

Lest ye forget, imperialism was "all the craze" during the 1800s and those lands the US "absorbed" were primarily the ill-gotten gains of other imperial powers, primarily Spain. The rest we purchased from other imperial powers such as France and Russia.

And we didn't steal the Panama Canal.. We built it after France failed to accomplish the task. We LEASED the canal from Panama, which had previous to its independence, been a relative backwater of Colombia. And we have given it back as of 1999.

As for those military bases, why is the US to blame for those countries permitting our military to have access to their territory? The Phillipines voted to remove US bases and we left. Why didn't we go and beat them up and force them to let us back in??

Those nations permit US bases to exist on their territory because IT BENEFITS THEM MORE THAN THE US. The US provides a presence that counters any aggressive moves by their hostile neighbors. If they wanted us to leave, we'd be forced to go.

The US has spent the past 100 years forcing the imperialist powers to decolonize and grant independence to former holdings. There is probably something to be said for the fact that were it not for the US "coaxing" the other powers to deconstruct their empires, those imperialist ambitions would exist today.

But hey.. if you don't like the US, or the way this people deals with the rest of the world, you're more than welcome to depart on the next flight.

We won't even charge you an exit tax..
