R.D.,

1) The article clearly states that MIR is sought out for investment in this ecological travesty:

China intends to entice foreign and Hong Kong power giants -- including the U.S. Mirant Corp. and Hong Kong's CLP China -- to invest in its listing-arm company,

2) That would be a good lack of development.

3) If Chinese hydro projects are good investments and if limiting capital expenditures/investments was not currently necessary, it would make perfect sense for MIR to invest.

Investment without regard toward the consequence to the local population or the environment is called "rape & pillage" by sane and sensible people.

4) ) What is it, exactly, that you find "slimy"?

It is not just me. There are millions of us who are opposed to this travesty, including the World Bank:

5) Are you craig crawford's long lost twin or just soul-mates?

Dunno, haven't read his postings.

For Mirant to be even considering involving itself in such a project indicates a complete lapse of moral and ethical judgement on the part of Mirant's so-called management.

Salaams, Ray
