yet another ^VIX chart, The 5-year large chart via Yahoo.Want to indentify that spike down is 8/28/2000 when it's range that day was open 19.22 High 19.34 Low 18.06 Close 18.23. finance.yahoo.com in the following NASD prolonged sell-off ^VIX got no higher than 27.86 by 10/10 (on a slow but relentless uptrend , and then it rose rapidly to have it's high on 10/18--which was 36.74 with a close at 32.50. and also VXN/VIX interaction over the past year. finance.yahoo.com
