Dabum: A hammer looks like a hammer with the mallet end on top. Signifying the bottom of a trend has been achieved.

Regarding the top of a trend, I had the idea that a reverse hammer was the bad thing, with the mallet on the bottom. Signifying that a stock opens at a certain point, euphoria kicks in and "dumb money" buying pushes the stock up intraday. But then sellers kick in, driving the stock price near to or below the open - very deflating for intraday buyers.

I would think a mallet-up hammer would be bullish on an uptrend.
