Maybe folks can take the punching back to the AMD thread, just like the good old days? I bet some of the mod AMD folks would begin to congregate on the old AMD thread if Paul showed up there once in awhile - he's a magnet for them. When Paul got banned from the mod AMD thread, some of the AMD folks decided to land here and post in volume, rather than on the old AMD thread.
Amy J, Paul's behavior on the AMD thread was somewhat akin to the white, pre-civil war southern landowner who preferred rape to fore play at least some of the time and would spend his raping hours with the slaves out back while his wife got the gentleman.
On the AMD thread, Paul used his intelligence, knowledge and writing ability to threaten, abuse and humiliate the AMD posters. At that time, AMD as a company was clearly the downtrodden underdog to Intel and Engel rubbed that fact into the collective noses of the AMD posters every chance he could. You all got the "good" Paul, the AMD thread got the "bad" Paul. And when he was in a snit, he could get down right mean psychologically on the AMD thread.
In one incident, he accused an AMD poster of sending him derogatory emails, and when the poster vehemently denied it, of lying. He then threatened to take him to SI. I told Engel to provide proof or back off. Later, it was found that the AMD poster in question was not guilty. To this day, I don't think Engel ever apologized for his rude and obnoxious accusation. BTW, the AMD poster was really shaken by the whole thing since he had no real way to prove his innocence.
There was nothing nice or interesting or "classy" about the posts on the AMD thread by Engel and some others. The AMD thread took the abuse while you all could maintain a higher level of exchange or "a bit of witty humor" on this thread. Unfortunately, his AMD postings helped promulgate the formation of the MOD thread.
What surprises me though is your lack of sensitivity to this issue. I have found you to be one of the more fair minded people on this thread and very sensitive to the kind of abuse discussed above. I don't quite understand how you missed it with this one.
