Here are some more details on what MSFT has up their sleeves for storage, virtualization, backup, etc... The link below is for their WinHEC training which is "the key industry event of the year for understanding future directions for hardware running Microsoft® Windows® operating systems.". The class is pretty much for the hardware/firmware/software engineers of companies in the storage business, as well as product strategists. Even by just reading the classes they have you can get a good feel for what you'll be seeing next year. (Actually most of if it is available now to developers, but it is all still buggy). I'll be attending, of course. microsoft.com
