John,
IMO, Institutional investors and fund managers are required to avoid penny stocks no matter how attractive they are. After consolidation, DEN's cash flow should be about $1/sh and hence the optimistic valuation of about $6+ per share.

If the stock starts trading above $3-4, there should ge more interest than now. Also with only 16m shares o/s, it will be very difficult to short.
