Bill,

I checked the Zack's Subscription Service update for SFLX which was updated as of today. Zack's adjusted SFLX's estimated FY 97 earnings to $.71/share and FY 98 estimated earnings to $1.39/share, down $.33 and $.34 cents respectively, and expects about $.15 share for earnings which will be released about 7/14/97.

Quarter wise, Zack's sees about a two quarter impact through 9/97 upon SFLX's previously expected (pre-SEG announcement) earnings, and then a resumption of "business as usual". So interestingly Zack's is more optimistic on SFLX's prospects than are the two or three brokerage houses who dropped next quarter's estimated earnings to $.03/share and FY estimted earnings to around $.55-60/share...

One wonders if this difference is based upon the fact that Zack's is not a brokerage house, and has no stake in any given stock, but simply issues earnings estimates....

Also- don't forget that SFLX has a lot of cash. SFLX is not only an acquisition target- indeed SFLX could itself go "on the offensive" and make an acquisition themselves....

Sincerely,

Doug Fant
