I know more about submitting research results at a scientific meeting than you do Mikey. How many scientific meetings have you attended? That press release is a joke and was released in an attempt to imply that the submission of a poster at a scientific meeting is somehow significant. Poster submissions are perks that are routinely offered to the attendees of a meeting and anyone can submit one if they have paid their admission fee. Of course, if that fact isn't explained by somebody who actually does know what they are talking about, the rest of the scientifically challenged readers are conned into believing this is a "validation" of GUMM's "research results", as has already been implied by Danny Boy. I wish I were going to his meeting. It would be interesting to see how much interest (or lack of) the poster garnishes from fellow Scientists. My guess is it will be largely passed over in favor of posters which center on real research.
