Sigh Neo mentioned the guy thing. I would go even further, when people converse in private sometimes throwing in vulgarity can be bonding. I think the problem arrises in using it with people who have various levels of comfort with it and for whom it means very different things. It seems to totally derail serious discussions- not that there are that many of those to derail. But still, I can't help but think we could discuss more topics in a more interesting manner if we could put aside vulgarity and personal invective. Not that we'll probably get the chance to see whether that is the case, but I like to think it might work.
