Ramtron Expects Higher Q1 Revenue Online staff -- 3/14/2002 Electronic News
Memory maker Ramtron International Corp. saw its fourth quarter revenue increase year-over-year and its losses narrow slightly. However, the company’s full-year revenue was lower and, including charges, its net loss for 2001 increased.
The Colorado Springs, Colo., company today reported a net loss of $4.5 million, or 20 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $8.5 million. A year ago, the company reported a net loss of $4.7 million, or 27 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $6.2 million.
Revenue from the company’s FRAM business rose to $3.1 million, up from $1.9 million for the fourth quarter of 2000. Revenue from its enhanced memory business was $5.4 million, up from $4.2 million last year. Ramtron also reported $1.4 million in license and development fees, compared with no fees a year ago.
For the first quarter, Ramtron is expecting revenue to increase 30 percent to 40 percent sequentially to come in between $11 million and $13 million.
For the year, which ended Dec. 31, Ramtron’s total revenue was $22.9 million, down from $26.1 million for 2000. The company’s net loss was $33.1 million, or $1.57 per share, compared with a net loss of $14.5 million, or 88 cents per share, a year ago. Including the one-time charge, full-year net loss applicable to common shares was $33.1 million, or a loss of $1.57 per share. |
