I thought that the goals of any public company is to act in the interest of their shareholders? re: Doesn't holding* market share account for some kind of success?* amd had access to only retail desktop and intel was not able to maintain market share there. re: Intel lowered prices, and you think that was a bad idea. if lowering prices would affect only retail desktops then I would really need to construct a model to see which point is an "optiomal" and possibly lowering prices would be needed. Lowering prices affected all of the chip prices regardless sector. And that is very different..... re: How do you measure success or failure I am not trying to take away from intel's or pIII success.
