802.11b and 802.11g have completely different applications than bluetooth. Bluetooth is meant for relatively low speed, short distance accessories. A cell phone with a bluetooth wireless earpiece could work to gether very easily wherever they are located (as long as they are in close proximity to each other. 802.11 would have serious coverage and interference issues for these types of applications. (not saying that 802.11 isn't going to be successful, just that it and bluetooth are not mutually exclusive).
