why? are you going on a trip?

No.

Just so I can know how. <g> <ng>

I know how to change my intake manofold and install a 4 barrel carborator on my old rag top even though I'm content with the original smaller parts are still on the motor of my '68 ragtop.

Don't ask me why...

I just like to know a little bit about each and every one of my hobbies that puts me a tiny nudge above average but well beyond being an expert.

Sort of a Jackass Of All Trades, kinda thing, I guess...

It's sorta like fishing.
I know various types or lures and put a good selection of them in my tackle box. I bought a fly rod and some flies.
Even read a few articles on how to tie them.
Yet whenever I go fishing, I put a worm on a hook, carelessly cast it in any direction the wind blows, open a beer, and think about all the things about fishing that I know. Then I shift gears and just watch the water, sky, and mountains and forget all about the worm swimming at the bottom of the lake.

I guess it's all part of the process that my brain goes through. Learn as much as I can about the subject until I exhaust myself. Then sit back and enjoy it and appreciate the fact that I understand it.
...while I drink a beer...
