Strangely in this case I think the punishment fits. We had a mentally ill women. We had a husband that knew she was mentally ill yet continued his quest by having her squirt out a child every 9 months. Dood knows that being "trapped" in their house with 5 kids is pushing her over the edge but does nothing to protect his wife and children. She isn't blameless but I think there is enough blame to go around that life is a good option.

Let me ask you this. Your wife is in and out of mental commitments due to the stress of raising your 5 children. She is suicidal and on anti psychotic medication. Do you leave her alone at home day after day with your 5 kids? If you do and something like this happens my feeling is the sane person is more to blame then the one that we know is nuts.
