I think you missed my point. I did not mean to start a debate on abortion, but rather point out that there are people who will do evil things in the name of Christianity. Just as there are people who will do evil things in the name of Islam. That does not alter the basic premises and values of those religions.

Please excuse the frankness, but I believe people who believe that 'Islam is evil' are part of the problem. You have plenty of counterparts in the Islamic world, to be sure, but that does not justify that attitude. The plain fact is that religions are constantly distorted to fit the plans and agendas of evil people. Your assertion that Islam is an evil religion show your lack of understanding of its tenets, and helps to perpetuate the cycle.

Now, if you said, as Pres Bush did, that Islam has been hijacked by extremists, and that we needed to continue to fight these extremists, I would agree. If you said that there were a lot of these extremists, and they seem to have a lot of influence in a lot of Muslim nations, I would agree.

However, it appears you are saying that Islam is equivalent to Nazism and should be wiped out as a religion, and all its followers killed or converted. That is exactly the kind of rhetoric that inflames and scares the millions of good, moderate Muslims, and leads us further down the path to destruction.
