No hysterics. Merely fear of the thought of an armed citizenry taking on an equally armed criminal element. The idea behind handgun control is to remove guns from the criminals, and prevent the inevitable handgun accidents that kill thousands. I'll side with the many police organizations that oppose widespread distribution of guns to citizens, that oppose assault weapons, that oppose special deadly ammo. FWIW I am not for banning of gun ownership, merely handgun ownership.
