"... and a civilized exchange between NG & tcmay. ... What's this world coming to? "

A smarmy bit of baiting, it looks like.

If you read the archives you'll see I have made many posts (many by my standards, though few compared to the hundreds per week that some of you post) on a lot of subjects, though usually centered around devices, technology, scaling, and so on. I rarely comment on the "horse race" of the DVDR BS Cache AMD chip against the 2356 RDRAM Intel chip set.

When droids use crazy logic ("Intel has only been profitable for the last N years because of accounting tricks") or seek to use their "free passes" from Mani to insult others (while running to Mani for protection when their ears are singed), I respond.

As for AMD per se, I think they're an interesting copycat company. They long ago abandoned doing basic work on their own, and now their niche is to scramble to copy the general lines of what Intel does, adding a few variations hear and there. Which is fine, up to a point. And having AMD in the market may help Intel to avoid getting complacent.

But Sanders seems well past his prime. And the string of would-be replacements has not worked out. He reminds me of of a lot of one-man rule countries: no orderly succession plans in place.

Maybe his son can take over....Papa Doc and Baby Doc.

I wonder if the Alzhammer will be out before Jerry succumbs to the real thing.
