The extent of the threat and what it will take to stop it is still being assessed, and probably is changing.
Perhaps we should not do anything at all until all the assessments are in, studies have been conducted by the GAO, Congress has debated and passed legislation, etc.
That should take about 2-3 years, if not longer. By then, several U.S. and foreign cities might have been blown up with dirty nuclear bombs.
However, you, unpristine, Duray, and all the other critics who minimize the threat and are reluctant to take decisive defensive and remedial measures can relish, in your last gasping breaths, that democratic principles were saved, even if democracy wasn't. |
