Here is a link to post-colonialism, if you're interested. I can understand why literature might include a clump for post-colonial. What I don't understand is why it is the business of the English department whether post-colonial nations are still colonial or what Africans have in common with African Americans.

I bombed out on new-theory and I wouldn't have a clue where to start with "close reader of text" or why that might be in opposition to multiculturalism.
