For we are all sons of the Living God who is our ONE Father in heaven. I know him as our Lord Jesus Christ while others may have identified with this ONE God through the teachings of Mohammed, Buddha or Bahaulla.
beautifully said, fred....
For you see , Mohammed or Jesus both didn't have the slightest clue about what men were imagining or thinking/experiencing far over to the East , or even across the world ...or how far God's creation actually extended even in planetary terms .
For them there was just this Bowl of an area we call the Middle East , and the Jordan River Basin , and their "World" was only a world of desert and date palms and Semite, Hebrew and Arab tribes and scattered Beduin wanderers , tribal Gods and myths ... grazing their flocks and ever warring and competing amongst themselves . And heaven was a place just up beyond the sky , and hell a place somewhere in the bowels of the earth.
The perception of the living breathing deeper mysteries & metaphors of life , the richness of the eternal dream and beauty and miracle of the spirit life , was also to be had in other places , and seen by great sages and saints long before them in other places , just as clearly and powerfully and perhaps even more.
If it was "love" and compassion towards each other and all things that Jesus was preaching , then he was a just little late to the party , for such an expanded view of life had been recorded and taught ages before he came , and so it was with Mohammed .
It is incredible when you think how little was known going back just a few centuries of the age of the earth or the world around them , and that history that was only "allowed" for men to study and accept as real even in the western Europe . That the world was only 4000yrs old , and no knowledge of early civilizations , the vast distances of the heavens or that there was a microcosm unseen.
Almost entirely in the last century were the proper studies of man's history and anthropology conducted ...and other religious beliefs and philosophies such as Hinduism and Buddhism understood . Such was the supppression of truth by the "Holy See ".
To think that Jesus was the "Only Son of God " or Mohammed the last prophet and the ever-present conflict stemming out of such claims , must be understood in the context that they both originated from out of the same tiny eternally conflicting area , which was in reality only a small geographical area in terms of the globe as a whole .
Just imagine the 1000's of years of the aborigines in Australia and parallel human cultures that existed simultaneously and before the arrival of Jesus or Mohammed . Were all these souls damned and not "saved " ?
It were pure folly to think so....and the height of arrogance . Even America is just an experiment & concept in time and eventually will be replaced by another even more expanded way of defining ourselves as a species and tribe. |
