when I was young , i awoke every morning to the sound of the blackbirds coming to life in these huge Oak Trees down
the ravine...there was life stirring in them as they called out to each other , and the life of wonder as I lay in bed
listening to their calls , chirps and high piercing tweets.

yesterday while driving....on the radio came an old Cat Stevens song...

oh...i know it has radio-burnout...but somehow, on this listen.... it was so stunningly beautiful in it's purity and simplicity...

like a joyous mantra to the one and only true god...Nature..

i wish i could have you listen to the whole song...the way he sings it so gently...with such measured thoughtful breaks between each line...

Morning has broken.....like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken.....like the first bird
Praise for the singing.... praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the world

Sweet the rain's new fall.....sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall..... on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight.... mine is the morning
Born of the one light..... eden saw play
Praise with elation....praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

~Cat Stevens

oh yes...the wonder of it all...

"Unknowingly, we plow the dust of stars, blown about us by the wind, and drink the universe in a glass of rain."

~Ihab Hassan

"There is a pleasure in the pathless woods...

There is a rapture on the lonely shore...

There is society, where none intrudes...

By the deep Sea, and Music in it roar:

I love not Man the less, but Nature more."

~ Byron
