Funcres.xla enables the Analysis ToolPak functions for use in worksheets. It is loaded when you check the toolpak option under Tools|AddIns. It is password protected. There is no point in opening it, it only contains links to compiled code libraries where the real work is done.

To stop it from loading just choose Tools-Add-ins from the Excel menu and uncheck the Analysis Toolpak option.
