Keeping criminals alive by disarming the law-abiding public is near and dear to all liberals. As 2000 showed, the left can fake millions of votes and still lose. Better to have decent people killed by the human waste that are allowed to run free in the streets. America is just too hard to bring down. Perhaps the American left will figure that out soon, and go screw up someone else's country...
