Good point, some of the real estate ones are bad, especially when they get a % of the acquisition and disposition of holdings, some of them churn the properties. E.G Summit, while it seems to have cleaned itself up I stayed away from it due to fees and insider issues in the past. I try to find units which have large insider ownership.

On the plus side, there are some real tax advantages and if you can hold different companies you reduce risk.
