I wonder how much of the secret trade in archeological treasures is the cause of the considerable interest by European tourists, (mostly Swiss, French and German), for Southern Mexico and the Central American countries.

I cannot think that it is only the scenery that attracts them in such volume... obviously the sites on their own are attractive enough to bring them ... but then the question is...

Under a relatively unregulated environment, (due to lack of means) and to the high degree of corrupted officials, allows for many of the small treasures to leave the country. The fact that many of the ruins may still remain undiscovered does not help...
