No...you wouldn't hurt my feelings at all.....the savage nature of the Maya is overwhelmingly repellent.....

But for me personally i've afforded the Maya Common people a certain degree of redemption....because I truly believe that in the end the people themselves rejected the priests highly structured society including the practices of bloodletting, sacrifice and self-mutilization.....and that they abandoned the cities and returned to their villages and farms and to a saner way of life.....

Killings that were "justified" in their own eyes only because of their ignorance, which allowed their religious leaders to massacre many of their own under the false pretense of a "better life in the beyond"...

Pretty amazing parallel between this 2000+ year old civilization and a certain bunch of modern-day savages that we've come to know all too well recently.
