Yeah... and that's what really pisses me off. Since it means that US intelligence is crawling with Judeofascist moles... Just like that INS botch of mailing Atta & Co's student-visas to the flying school --six months after 911!! Make no mistake: it's a personal affront against the Bush administration and, somehow, a veiled signal to tell the Bushies, "hey folks, we're on the inside... don't push us around or else..."
As for your theory about 911 being a botched US cointelpro sting, well, I've read the relevant snippets in Bamford's Body of Secrets, that is, pages 80-85 in Chap. "Fists" about that guy Lemnitzer... Again, it reinforces what I've been saying all along: the geopolitical landscape of the 1960s was totally different from today's. Gen. Lemnitzer's wild schemes about terrorist setups (bombings, hijackings, etc) were devised in retaliation to a MAJOR threat by the Soviet Union --the deployment of NUCLEAR ballistic missiles all over Cuba!! Did the US face a similar threat on September 10th, 2001? Was Al-Qaeda or Afghanistan or any other Muslim outfit posing a massive threat to the US on the eve of 911?? NO. However, the Taleban were threatening RUSSIA's sphere of influence in Central Asia and the PLO posed a serious challenge to Sharon and the Likud, that is, the setting-up of a Palestinian state...
Hence my theory about 911: a cointelpro mess, no doubt --but a RUSSIAN/ISRAELI/FRENCH one.
