That's the problem with you Jews --you must learn to move on and turn the page... like the Greeks, for instance:
Greeks such as myself know that ever since the Turks (under the rule of Mehmet II) evicted us from our homeland (Anatolia/Asia Minor) some 600 years ago (Constantinople fell in 1453), during Passover we conclude the service with the phrase "Next year in Istanbul!" That ought to explain to some that Greeks feel a relationship to Constantinople that surpasses America's affinity to NYC, Russia to Moscow, etc.
The Turks forced us to settle around the Aegean rim (Thessalonica, Macedonia, Negroponte, Crete,...), but they could not and did not break the dream of restoring Byzantium. You may be right that ultimately, the Orthodox populations will force Turks out of Asia Minor. I would not be surprised to see Turkey one day turned into a killing field with the Judeofascists killing every single Muslim in the land --after all, that was what the Crusades were all about. When that comes, one thing I am sure of, Israel will be complacent, you probably will supply them with the ideological rationalization and propaganda to justify the job --like the Pope before. |
