No. You don't have a 'probable cause' to deal with in the - now expired - special prosecutor act... you DO have 'apparent conflict of interest', the burden of which is satisfied merely by Enron's extensive campaign of political contributions.

As to 'what benefit' did they get, well, one benefit was to get their own candidates appointed to head the regulatory agencies that are tasked with responsibility for their industry... as in the example of the FERC - where Bush's first *ALLREADY ANNOUNCED* choice to head the agency was nixed after Chairman Lay called and expressed his opposition. Lay's choice was then appointed... the same hand-picked administrator he maneuvered into position to head the Texas Utility Commission and carry The Crooked E's water.

Sounds like money buys special influence to me!
