Hi Lizzie,

I understand your point but we are talking about a huge drag on GDP from inventory reductions over the past 4 quarters. The simple fact that inventories cannot be reduced anymore takes this drag off and creates a more pure GDP based on demand. Nobody is expecting inventories to be rebuilt en masse... You can RESPOND to demand faster using today's IT systems but you can't predict it any better than 1991. We live in a world run by Siebel sales pipeline analysis software and analytical modules etc.... However, none of those systems can tell you any better than spreadsheet software from 1991 did how much inventory you will need in say June, '02....
