I so agree, Karen! If a child misbehaves in the classroom or in public, the best way to change behavior is to try the "step into my office" approach. Private reprimands are much easier to deal with...the child isn't embarrassed and there isn't a chance for anyone to take sides. If it all works out, no one ever knows the details.

Adults need the same consideration. Public discussions over their behavior become everyone's business. When couples bring their private business into the family or party, it makes everyone else uncomfortable. One on one discussions can usually be solved much more easily.
