Hi Bob, re: getting it

<...For experienced computer buyers, they are going to
look at the price of the box before anything else intitially...>

Actually, some people use these boxes professionally to make
a living. The choice of the best tool relates to its features,
effectiveness, and ability to do the job at hand. For those
without an understanding of what it is all about - as they have
nothing else to reference, they often look at price first.

<...True, he did embrace the GUI but my feeling has always been
that his main rival was and always has been IBM. After all who
came after Win95 initially...not Apple but rather IBM with the OS2...>

I'm not sure the History of Computers book would show it this way.
Perhaps you can elaborate on this point.

<The fact is for the normal computer user Windows is just fine...>

I suppose 'just fine' is 'just fine' unless you're really trying
to get real work done, and have experienced something better.

>>"quit focusing on innovation".
<...Ahh, but I just want to play solitaire!

Thanks Bob, some of us have work to do...
I believe you once mentioned,
"Why drive a Volkswagon when you can cruise in a Ferrari."
