I was feeling sorry for myself for standing in line for only four hours. A colleague got in a fast line and got on the flight that I missed while standing in line. I got home the day before he did, owing to bad weather where we live that prevented his flight from landing (not uncommon at all) . I don't think all this security screening is doing any good. If anything, it increases the risk of catastrophe at the airport.
