Ted....Joe, actually I came over here to ask you or someone else.....do you know if the hammers are supposed to start at 1 G? And if not, at what level?<<<<<<<<

While no one has stated the mhz, it is possible to get an accurate guess. Jerry and Dirk have stated that Hammer would have an 3400+ rating. Yesterday there was a report that Hammer would have a 20 to 25 % IPC improvement over XP. If the improvement is at the 25% level, then the Hammer would be running at (.75x3400) 2550 rated XP. Right now the XP2000 runs at 1.67 ghz which is a 1.2 multiplier so 2550/1.2= 2.12 ghz. IF the improvement in OPC = 20%, then the Hammer would run at the same speed as a 2720 XP which would be 2.26 ghz. So if the 3400 rating is correct and the 20 to 25% IPC improvement is correct, Hammer should run between 2.12- 2.26 ghz.
