The dreaded derivs crisis...how many times can you say that with a straight face? Didn't you learn ANYTHING from the Ashanti/Cambior workout? 1) ---Cash was exchanged, 2) ---Debt was restructured from short term maturities to LONG TERM AT NO INTEREST MATURIES by the same lenders who were "caught" in the squeeze 3) ---Price of gold fell back immediately from plus $300 to under $275 ...AGAIN Is not notional derivatives book of umpty trillion bucks over at J.P. Morgan's not much more valuable than a goldmine or two with several bankers standing around it? Your ignorant, prattling support of Smurphy is noted, .......................,.......................................tiresomely, .....................................................................one more time.<sigh> What I don't understand is why a war veteran like you has gotten sucked into seeking so lip-smacking voraciously aiding and abetting the collapse of the western world banking system of the very nation who asked you to give your life for a truly honorable endeavor--that being the effort to help a tortued people 1/2 world away from the comforts of home? Say what? Remember when you mouth off again, that I am a PROUD Mother of a deliberately gassed veteran which is as close as I'll ever come to going to going to war personally... thank goodness. It's hell watching HIM pay the physical price for fighting for an oil patch and my nation's foreign oil-slurping glutony!
