If you want to sound off, enjoy, but you'll never find the answer to why mankind has gone so awry, nor will you find the answer for your own soul. Bottomline: He that sins becomes a slave to sin. Only Jesus Christ has the power and authority to cleanse and heal an individual from his sin.
That's utterly and completely insane....and man has not gone awry as you put it , there has been tremendous progress going forward . Once Christianity let go of much of it's narrow insanities of ancient tribal beliefs and fantasies in Devils and Evil, original sin and eternal damnation...and human beings could breath & laugh & study nature freely once again.
There are millions ...many many instances down thru the ages , of examples of teachers and care-givers and poets and bards ....writers and story tellers , philosophers and artists that have inspired , taught by example , awoke the imaginations and consciences of the people , written absolutely wonderful and divinely inspirational works that enriched the fabric of our collective realities.
And scientists & humanitarians that have risked it all ,to further our reach of understanding of this world and ourselves and grow beyond .
