Avid's stock is getting battered unnecessarily. If you notice, over the past couple of trading days, the stock has been hit on relatively low volume with none of the trades coming from institutional investors. Should institutions start unloading, the stock could get hit by another 4 points. However, I believe most institutions who have bought recently anywhere from 19 to 26 believe Avid has wonderful long-term prospects. Therefore, I don't see any major selling from the institutional investors in the near future. Any dips in the stock present excellent buy opportunities. I continue to buy the stock on any weakness. Long-term, Avid will be a huge success. The network broadcasting industry is perhaps their biggest opportunity. CNN's success with Avid (both with Fnn and Headline News) will encourage other players, large and small, to jump on the Avid bandwagon. The potential earnings over the next 5 years are extraordinary. Hang in there, you will make a lot of money with Avid. Frankly, I believe Avid presents a much better opportunity than DATX.
