We live in San Jose Unified, which for years had a busing program. It failed miserably. Fortunately, they got rid of it a year before my oldest started school. They use a magnet school program now, which seems to be having more success. I'm not sure what the purpose of forced diversity programs are, except to drive kids towards private schools. They should concentrate their efforts on improving each school.
