The story about Ellen Rometsch (according to George Stephanopolis), is that she was an East German spy (living in the U.S.), who had an affair with President Kennedy. The story goes, that when the Senate started digging around, Hoover was sent to Hill, and threatened to release his sex files on members of Congress, if they persisted.
