from briefing: Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) 38 7/8 +7/8: chipmaker reports 2nd qtr diluted net of $0.07 a share vs a yr-ago loss of $0.26 a share. Sales rose 30.7% to $594.56 mln, a 7.7% sequential increase. The company was expected to make $0.22 a share for the period; says 2nd qtr book-to-bill above parity. Issue is now trading 1 7/8 points lower in the 3rd-market (as of 16:28 ET)...
