Ah, dear boy, go back to your history texts. I fear you flunked. It was you BRITISH that taught that so well to your colonists. And not just the American colonials either.

We stopped first and proclaimed loudly that it was a sin. And never discriminated therafter in votes etc (the prejudices of, shall we say, the more conservative elements, take longer to correct).
Was it not you who so recently was making excuses for the tardiness of your people in learning some matters? I seem to remember something like 130 or 60 years being mentioned.

You are aware, are you not, that slavery has been illegal in these United States for the past 137 years? There was a minor little fracas called the American Civil War that settled the matter. Rather bloody thing.
