Ann Corrigan, Recently, I saw an article about the ANWAR and the road they are building through it. Scientists, and many ecologists, have determined that the road will cause much more damage to the area than the drilling for oil. The drilling for oil can be controlled, and the drillers forced to clean up after themselves, as the strip miners were force to do, but there is not much anyone can do about the destruction of an area by tourists, and other travelers. They will spoil the land much faster than drilling.
