I saw Bill Seidman on TV last night. He was asked to comment on the analyst who had appeared before congress earlier that day and had testified that the pressure to give bullish ratings to stocks made it impossible to properly do the job of stock analysis.

I was a little shocked to hear Seidman say something like, "Well, that fellow is in the wrong business. Analysts are hired to help their firm, and that's what they should do."

I see what he means, but in that case shouldn't they be properly called stock salesmen, or stock promoters?

Sorry for the rant, but analysts are constantly bulling the very stocks I'm short. Must be a conspiracy. -g-
