The part of ANWAR that would be used for drilling ia about the same area that a mailbox takes up in the average yard. It's also the part of ANWAR that is a frozen mud plain. No animals or trees there. ************************************************************************ But, as enigma mentioned, the resulting highways could be the opening for tourists to over-run the area which would lead to negative effect on wildlife & environment in the surrounding area. Besides, it would just be stalling the eventual outcome for US energy policy ---why not take necessary steps now for discovery of alternative energy.
