The part of ANWAR that would be used for drilling ia about the same area that a mailbox takes up in the average yard.

I think it's sadder how much you have to lie about this drilling than anything. That lie about only using 2000 acres does not mention that those are not together. They are little plots with a well scattered over hundreds of square miles that are are connected by roads and pipes and wires that are not counted in the "little area". Even the truck parking lots aren't counted, only the actual well sites. Huge swaths of the former wilderness will be bulldozed.

The real real reason that Bush and the oil Barons want to drill in ANWAR is that they can steal the oil. Yes Steal the oil from the American people. Under the guidance of Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Tex) the oil companies will pay the government royalties based on a percentage of the price received for the oil by the refinery. The other lie that you like to keep under your knickers is that the oil companies will have a drilling arm and a refinining arm incorporated as separate subsidiaries. The drilling arm will sell to the refining arm for pennies on the dollar so that the royalty paid to the government, that is the royalty paid back to the American people who own the oil in the first place, will be fractions of pennies on the dollar. It is a theft, Worse! it is a robbery since the threat of terrorism is used to steal the oil. You are either their mouthpiece or their stooge.
