Maybe if you go to the source perhaps it had something to do with the manic , mad Messiah crying out for vengence and condemning everyone to Hell . It was easy and natural for the church to follow his lead and murder millions in his name . They were only practicing what he preached 50% of the time, read the Gospel.

Mohammed had a similar problem with violent content as well...
read the Koran.
