If you snicker at them? In most cases, it would be a violation. I belong to no church, and I consider atheism and fundamentalism to be equally wrong. But there are few things outlandish enough to snicker at, certainly in public. For example, I am sure you are aware that Ganesha, the Elephant God, is ubiquitous in Hindu households and even shops, because he brings good fortune. I would never laugh at Ganesha. I would never laugh at a Tibetan Buddhist for believing that he can find the reincarnated Dalai Lama through signs and portents, and interviewing a toddler. I would consider it terribly condescending to react in such a manner, and awfully rude to do it in front of the affected parties. If I would not laugh at Ganesha, why at the other things you mention?
